In elementary school, my parents gifted me an old Dell computer which sparked my passion for technology. I spent countless hours tinkering with it, overclocking the CPU, adding more RAM, and upgrading parts such as the heatsink and fans to enhance my gaming experience. As I grew older and newer games required more powerful hardware, I became increasingly interested in building custom PCs. I spent time researching and learning about the compatibility between different components, the different types of each component and what that meant for the situations they were typically used in, as well as budgeting for the entire project.

With my 14th birthday approaching, I knew that I will have saved up enough money to begin my dream build soon. Eager to start, I received some of the components a week or so after my birthday, allowing me to finally indulge in my dream build. As the days went on, I received the last of the components, quickly installed them, and spent some time troubleshooting BIOS settings before finally having a functional custom computer. The process of researching, selecting, and assembling the components was a valuable learning experience, teaching me important skills in budgeting, component compatibility, and problem-solving.

I truly enjoyed this project as it has been a useful experience in many ways. Not only do I still use this custom computer to this day, but it also fueled my passion for engineering and reinforced my belief in the power of self-learning. Building this computer has been a valuable experience that has had a lasting impact on my interests and career path.
